Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. It is located at north-central switzerland.









Theaters


Zurich Opera House






Zurich Opera House is one of the principal opera house in Europe. Built in 1834, it was the first permanent theatre in the heart of Zurich. In 1890, the theatre was rebuilt as an ornate building with a neo-classical architecture. 

Schauspielhaus Zurich



Schauspielhaus Zurich is the main theatre complex in the city. It was the largest theatre in Switzerland. Under the leadership of the internationally renowned director Christoph Marthaler, the theatre was voted " Theatre of the Year" in 2002 and 2003.


Tonhalle Zurich






The excellent acoustic of the Tonhalle Zurich concert hall rank among the best of the world. The large concert hall wan built in 1895 and in augurated in the presence of Jahannes Brahms.

Tonhalle Zurich can seat up to 1455 concert-goers. In recent years, the Tonhalle Ochestra has developed into one of Europes's leading ensembles. Around 100 highly motivated musicians and a commited and charismatic conductor present audiences with around 100 audiences with around 100 concerts every season with approximately 50 different programs.

Zurich is rich in cultural highlights. With over 50 museums and more than 100 galleries. Zurich is one of the world's major art trade centers.


Museum Bellerive

The museum is located on the promenade of Lake Zurich. Three times a year, this museum play host to special exhibitions focusing on works by international artists inspired by the themes of play, decorations and utility. The museum also features contempory fashion, design and lifestyle, as well as items from the arts and crafts collections.


Museum Rietberg







The Rietberg Museum in Zurich in the only art museum for non-Europeans culture in Switzerland. It possesses an internationally renowned collection of works from Asia, Africa, America and Oceania.

By presenting works of arts, the museum seeks not only to make visitors aware of the fascinating diversity of forms of artistic expressions, but also to arouse their interest in and understanding of other cultures, ideologies and religious.



Food


The traditional cuisine of Zurich consists of traditional fare, reflecting the centuries of rule by patrician burghers as well as the lasting imprint of Huldrych Zwingli's puritanism.

Night Life and Clubbing


Zurich offer a great deal of variety when it comes to night-time leisure. It is the host city of world famous Street Parade, which take place in August every year.

Street Parade in Zurich is one of the largest techno and dance music festivals in the world.

The most famous district for nightlife is Niederdorf in the old towns with bars, restaurants, lounges and clubs.

The Film Festival in Zurich


The Zurich Film Festival provides its large audience with an inside look at the work of young up-and-coming film makers from around the world and awards the coveted " Golden Auge " prize in the competitive category. 




Every September, Zurich transform into a film capital for 11 days and offers the public the chance to view 70 new film premieres. The event also attended by well-known directors and actors.
